My friend, Giora Proskurowski, is a scientist who worked for the SEA for a few years teaching students and doing studies and experiments on sail-powered ocean journeys. Some of these studies gathered information toward measuring quantities of waste plastic in the open ocean.
Scott Elliott, a producer and director, is making a documentary called Into the Gyre about a particular SEA study and voyage on the Corwith Cramer to the Sargasso Sea. Giora is the scientist speaking in the short videos below.
